Brain Computer Interface on a Multi-touch Table-top

Red and Blue is an Abstract Game that is played on a Multi-Touch Interface using a Brain Computer Interfacing device that can read the player's brainwaves. In this game, players use their concentration and calmness of mind to create energy blasts, push , pull , lift and thrash objects and control elements of the environment. The Idea was to experience "The Energy Inside our Body Flow into the Screen".

Objective

Design an Interactive experience for the new Lenovo Horizon Multi-Touch 27 Inch Windows 8 PC using the Brain Computer Interface.

Research

Research was carried out on the following technologies

(i) The Lenovo Horizon 27 Inch AIO PC.                         

(ii) Neurosky Mindwave Brain Computer Interface.

What is the general overview of these technologies?

What are their capabilities?

What interaction models do they support?

What are their Individual specifications?

What are their technical and other constraints?

The research drew heavily from the documentation of the technologies, the various resources available for the technologies  and the online community around these communities.

Prototyping and User testing

From the data gathered from research, several concepts were explored on paper based on offerings of the technologies. Demo users were asked to give feedback on the explored concepts.

Final Build

Finally, the visuals were developed, an optimised code-base was built and the final build of the experience was achieved.

Winner Microsoft Imagine Cup National Finals 2014  (2nd Place in Games). Intel App Innovation Contest 2013: (i)  Voted among the most innovative Ideas   (ii) Among the worldwide Finalists (iii) Category Winner in the world wide finals.
